Women’s Ministries provides opportunities for women of all ages who have a desire to grow in community with others while strengthening their personal relationship with Jesus. Throughout the year you can choose from occasional outings, meeting for coffee or tea, and Bible Study. Most Thursday mornings there is Bible study at the church at 10 AM. It is a multigenerational group eager to welcome someone new. A variety of printed and video resources are used, with prayer time being an integral part of each gathering. It is a great place for laughter and tears as we learn to do life together. We do take a few seasonal breaks, so feel free to check with the church office or Sheryl Hanthorn at email@example.com or 515.779.2010, 641.628.439 for the most current plans and schedule.
update - march 18, 2020
Today our governor asked us to take even greater measures of social distancing to slow the progression of COVID -19. Because of that I have decided to cancel our Bible study group indefinitely. I have the email addresses visible in this communication so that you have each other’s information if you choose to communicate with one another by email.
We are living in unprecedented times with very tough decisions that need to be made. It is my prayer that we all continue to support one another in whatever ways we can safely do so. I deeply value our study and prayer time together and will certainly miss it. Keep growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior and keep sharing that grace extravagantly in the ways that you can! My sis and I are contemplating a little caroling outside my mom’s window at the Cottages, and we are keeping her bird feeder well stocked, so she has regular feathered visitors. J
Last Thursday, when we met I promised to get to you the information we discussed that was shared by Louis Smedes in the video about Forgiveness and Grace…
Five common mistakes (or misunderstandings) people often make in the process of forgiving:
Forgiving somebody is excusing them
Forgiving is the same as tolerance
People expect instant results
You have to run to the person and tell them.
You’ve got to go back to the same relationship.
Also last week we prayed for Donna Kendall’s upcoming surgery. Her husband told me Sunday that it went well. Praise God!
If you have prayer requests and would like those shared with the group over these next weeks, don’t hesitate to let me know and I will forward those.
May God’s blessings and protection surround you!
